![]() ![]() I'm not particularly a horror fan but I do very much like this game but I have to say as someone who never played the original, it's fucking terrifying to me. ![]() Gonna be a great ride either way for sure though.įuck. Haven’t run out of ammo or health once and doing hard mode. Seriously hoping the remake is better than DS2 cause it feels more like a Gears of War game than survival horror. I think the melee in TCP helped a lot too having those gross ass things right I’m your face was way more tense than just shooting them from 20 yards away. Playing DS2 now and it’s like straight up shooter nothing scary at all just constant annoying jump scares. And then tracking them with my ear around them behind, so cool.Īlso having real actors and realistic faces that didn’t look gamey really sold it. The sound really sold TCP for me as well. I was told here that DS was way more scary so I got excited but I seem to be like you in feelings about TCP so hopefully DS isn’t a letdown in that regard. I guess the difference is that, the events of Martyr are actually meaningful throughout the novel, while the same can't be said about Catalyst.Dang I thought TCP was tense basically whole game, never really scary too much but constant tension. It didn't feel like I was reading a Dead Space tie-in until the very end, when the actual Necromorph outbreak occurs, unlike Martyr, which curiously had a similar structure (the outbreak happens only at the very end). Nothing of interest really happens and the characters aren't nearly interesting enough to make me care. I liked the concept of two brothers looking after eachother, but in the end it just falls flat. Had its cliched and cheesy moments, but overall a great read, specially for me, an avid Dead Space fan, and it's really accessible, easy to read. I realized that so much of the author's style is lost in translation! It definitely holds a special place in my heart.Īnyways, yeah, Martyr was great. Since then I make sure I read the original version of a book if it's in English. In fact, Martyr was the first book I ever read in English from start to finish (I'm not a native English speaker) back in like 2012 or something. I have read Martyr and Catalyst, actually. ![]()
